maybe if we move to the west side
maybe that will change the tide
we’d have to cross that filthy river
sometimes it seems so wide
all that you do is what you must do
but habit and vice are part of the puzzle
that try to dictate to you
and seems the source of much of your trouble.
basic problems explode with violence
leaving you standing cold to wonder
your daily toil is done in silence
nothing satiates your hunger
maybe the westside would change things for you
where once you’d get stuck you’ll now get through
maybe the difference is significantly skewed
what is your preference
what will you do?
You don’t move forward you might move back
and from behind you feel the pull
you may or may not be starting to crack
the cups half empty
